Overlooked

The Minnesota Lynx opened the year at over +1000 odds to win the title. As of right now, the Lynx are down to +600 to win the title within the Barstool Sportsbook. While the Lynx are 4-5 on the season, they are 4-1 in their last 5 games and are starting to play at a very high level.

The Lynx had arguably the best off-season in the league adding Kayla McBride, Aerial Powers and Natalie Achonwa. Their slow start to the year can largely be attributed to not having a full roster. Napheesa Collier was late to report to the team while she was fulfilling overseas commitments while Aerial Powers missed early games due to nagging injuries. Now, they’re playing with a full roster and starting to play at a high level.

I still believe they are being overlooked by bookmakers as I look at today’s opening lines.

Today’s game comes in with several storylines as the Lynx face the Chicago Sky.

The Sky just signed Lexie Brown to a contract for the rest of the season after she was waived by the Lynx just before training camp. As a member of the very small club of proud owners of a Lexie Brown Connecticut Sun jersey, there’d be nothing better to see than her having a good game against her former team.

Another storyline, is that Sky coach James Wade used to be an assistant for Cheyl Reeve in Minnesota. The apprentice always want to beat their former boss but today I believe the Lynx will roll on the Sky.

The Sky have been my biggest disappointment to start the year. While they have faced similar roster challenges as the Lynx, not being at full strength to start the year they have not beaten anyone with a pulse. The Sky are sitting at 4-7, with 2 of their 4 wins coming against the lowly Indiana Fever as well as the Dream and the Mystics.

The Sky have not beat anyone with a winning record this year. Even with Dolson, Parker and Quigley missing time to begin the season, the Sky should be playing better. They simply have too much talent.

Today I’m keyed in on the Lynx Team Total over 81.5. I think Minnesota will continue their hot streak and beat Chicago with ease.

I want to begin posting picks again and since it’s been a long time I’m going to reset my record.

L Bag’s Record ATS: 0-0-0

Today’s Pick: Minnesota Lynx TT Over 81.5 -106. Risking 1 Unit to win 0.94 Units
