Just the Tip – July 26, 2020 (WNBA Day 2)

Boom!!! a profitable Day 1 of the WNBA season as “Just the Tip” starts 2-1 moving to 33-20. I went to church, to be a good son, this morning and am naturally in a shitty mood because of it. I’m a well documented church hater but I want Indiana Fever nation to know there were no hot chicks for me to look at so actually I focused in on the service and prayed for your team that they can come together and not look absolutely pathetic. I understand it’s Marianne Stanley’s first game as head coach but you just can’t get run out of the gym by a team that lost 4 of their starters and key bench pieces. It’s embarrassing. I want to be clear the Indiana Fever are one lost bet away from being dead to me. I’m praying God will save you. Enough about that, let’s get right to the picks as these lines are moving.

The Lock of the Day

Chicago vs Vegas 3:00 PM EST

Chicago -2.5 (-110)

If you’ve read this website you know the Sky are my team this year. The Aces are coming in without Liz Cambage and Kelsey Plum and this game has revenge implications after Vegas knocked Chicago out of the playoffs with a halfcourt buzzer beater.

Chicago is returning essentially their whole team and will be a darkhorse team to win the title. With additions of Azure Stevens their chemistry is out of control. I mean look at these videos.

That right there is the type of chemistry you need to win games and bets. This team clearly loves being around each other and I love them. Vegas did bring in Angel McCoughtry but due to injuries plaguing her career the past few seasons it’s hard to determine what Angel we’re getting. Don’t matter, we’re rolling with Chicago. Play the music. The Sky is the Limit.

The Flyer Bet

I want to be clear this is a flyer bet Connecticut is my local team and I have biases due to my time wiping up sweat as a manager under Curt Miller at Indiana University. I’m very interested into what this team will look like with the additions of Dewanna Bonner, Briann January and Kalenna Mosqueda-Lewis. Losing Courtney Williams and Shekinna Strickland are massive losses and the team will have to re-invent themselves. Jonquel Jones is sitting out due to concerns around Covid and is naturally a massive loss the Lynx will exploit down low with Sylvia Fowles and Naphessa Collier. Even with a new look roster I still expect these teams to put up a lot of points. I’m feeling confident and want to get the blood flowing early.

Lynx/Sun 1st Half Over 78.5

Lock Em in.

Chicago -2.5 (-110) (THE LOCK)

Lynx/Sun 1H Over 78.5 (-110) (THE FLYER)

Just the Tip’s Record ATS: 33-20
